Rice oil is extracted from the germ and the films that externally wrap the rice grain (called glumes and glumellae or collectively chaff or husk ).

Rice oil is therefore produced from the residues of husking , from which brown rice is obtained by removing the husk , and of bleaching, through which the embryo and the outermost parts of the grain ( pericarp, spermoderm and aleurone layer ) are removed.

Rice bran oil is particularly valued in both the food and cosmetic industries. This product is high in oleic acid , a monounsaturated fatty acid typical of olive oil, and linoleic acid , a polyunsaturated fatty acid typical of vegetable oils.

Thanks to these properties and the abundant presence of tocopherols , rice oil is ascribed antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cholesterol-lowering, triglyceride-lowering and cardiovascular disease-preventing properties .

Not only a food, but also an excellent cosmetic ingredient!

HOW TO USE

It lends itself to any culinary preparation. Excellent raw, but also in fried foods, sauces, and risottos. It is also used in the preparation of natural cosmetics, such as oleolites, scrubs, creams, and body oils. It is obtained from rice husks.
