Description / 2052 - Global Scenarios for the Next Forty Years. - Book

In 1972, a group of MIT scholars, commissioned by the Club of Rome, published "The Limits to Growth," a book based on simulations conducted with early computers to measure the effects of population growth, consumption, and pollution on our planet. After years of fierce criticism, the study's conclusions were finally admitted to be correct.
In 2012, one of the co-authors of that text, Jorgen Randers, took stock of the situation and, using an impressive amount of data processed by the most powerful supercomputers and the contribution of experts in various fields, attempted to outline the future of our planet up to 2052.
According to predictions, we will increasingly live in cities, become more connected and creative, but we will have to find ways to manage the tensions caused by growing inequality. The population may not grow as much as expected, but renewables will not be able to completely replace fossil fuels in time to completely eliminate the possibility of catastrophic global warming.
Good news and bad news, therefore, which make us reflect on the future of our planet.
