Description / Thyme jar 15g
Thyme is a plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. Its remarkable gastrointestinal antiseptic properties have been known since ancient times. The Ancient Egyptians used thyme essential oil, along with other oils, in the embalming process. Until the end of World War I, thyme was used to make the most common disinfectants. Its antibacterial properties are provided by a phenol, thymol, found in all parts of the plant, which is responsible for its scent.
Usage
It is used in broths, fillings, and soups. It pairs well with fish, vegetables, and all meats, including game.
