Alce Nero Real Quinoa Grains (Designation: Real Quinoa. Organic) is a specialty made from real quinoa. It is produced by Alce Nero & Mielizia and distributed by Alce Nero di Monterenzio (BO).
Quinoa is an annual herbaceous plant from the Chenopodiaceae family and has a fascinating history: venerated by the Incas as a sacred plant for over 5,000 years and cultivated on the Andean plateaus at altitudes between 3,800 and 4,200 meters, it remains the staple food of the Andean people today. It has significant nutritional properties, even for Westerners, and is naturally gluten-free. Alce Nero has chosen Real Quinoa for its consumers because it is considered the most valuable of all the varieties. Real Alce Nero Quinoa is grown on the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, at an altitude of over 3,600 meters, using methods similar to those used by the Incas. The altitude of the fields, the expertise of Bolivian farmers, and the meticulous controls throughout the supply chain make Real Alce Nero Quinoa a food of the highest quality with satisfying nutritional values for the entire body.
