Alce Nero Blackberry and Elderberry Nectar with Apple Juice (Denomination: Blackberry and Elderberry Nectar - Minimum 45% fruit) is a specialty made with water, 34% blackberries, 11% elderberry fruit, and 7% concentrated apple juice. It is produced by Alce Nero & Mielizia and distributed by Alce Nero di Monterenzio (BO).
This Alce Nero nectar is produced by the Insieme Cooperative, founded in 2003 with the aim of facilitating the return of refugees to the municipalities of Bratunac and Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina through work and sharing. The cooperative is made up of small family farms, often run by women, and aims to revive this rural economy through the processing of traditional local berries. Blackberries and elderberries grow wild in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Insieme Cooperative members are responsible for harvesting and processing, which takes place in Bratunac.
