Pizza for Breakfast
For most people who follow proper dietary regimes, pizza is a food that should be completely banned from their diets. But science thinks differently. This is explained by Chelsey Amer, a young US nutritionist who sees pizza as the ideal food to start our days. The nutritionist has indeed stated that eating a slice of pizza for breakfast is a completely healthy habit. She explained why to The Daily Meal.Cereals and Pizza
Amer explains that a slice of pizza for breakfast and a bowl of cereal made with whole milk contain the same number of calories. At the same time, however, pizza provides a higher protein intake, which will help to keep the person full throughout the morning, thus avoiding giving in to hunger and snacking. Furthermore, pizza contains roughly the same fats and sugars as a bowl of cereal. For this reason, the risk of a drop in blood sugar during the day would also be averted.A Balanced Breakfast
Pizza contains proteins, carbohydrates, and sugars, but often also vegetables and cheese, which are ideal for the diet. Therefore, it seems that despite common opinion, eating pizza for breakfast can be healthy. Chelsey Amer does emphasise, however, that pizza is not the healthiest food out there. But compared to a seemingly harmless bowl of cereal, it’s not so bad after all.Condividi
